“During my visit to The Frutería, we made it in time for weekend brunch, with its tantalizing menu that forces you to make very hard decisions. Will you order a licuado? A fruit cup with chile and lime? A salad, a chalupa, or chilaquiles? Oh, the horror of only picking one! We decided to feast on tortas, sandwiches that are served on Mexican birote rolls. If you know what bolillo bread is, you’ve got the idea. This bread has a great crunch on the outside and holds up well for a hearty sandwich.”
